We hope that it brings pleasant memories to those *young* enough to remember the "jubilee" and similarly will enlighten the *even younger * visitors as to how people comunicated, all those years ago. Thank you to all concerned for the privilege of providing this kiosk. That was when the "can do" philosophy that we all have here at English Phone boxes, had to be firmly applied. Imagine then our further head scratching, when asked if we could power it up with Solar panels. Game on!!!. Our engineer Kev, (he"s the grisly adams in the photo),set about brainstorming the metal work. Our good freind Owen, from Ambisol, here in Gloucester, a genius who gets his spare time kicks, playing with LED"s, set about applying his "light refraction through acrylic" principles to lighting the office. Certainly Amanda and Chris were suitably pleased. Pleased enough to insist on spending an hour with me and the lads at our Hotel, the most hospitable King William 1V, at Sedgeford. http://www.thekingwilliamsedgeford.co.uk/ Ill let you decide wether their efforts were successful.
